No particular reason for choosing that date, it came at random.

At the very least I know the episodes survive of the following series: "Highway Patrol", "The Texan", "The Restless Gun", "Whirlybirds", "Father Knows Best", "Tales of Wells Fargo", "Make Room for Daddy", "Peter Gunn", and "The Ann Sothern Show".The episode probably also exists for "Flight". No idea which other episodes exist from that date.

There's also schedules from Britain, Australia, West Germany, France, USSR, etc to consider. Information on such would be hard to get.
